I woke up this morning in Atlanta, GA with emotions high. Several of my students worked on political campaigns and voted in not only their first presidential election but also endured six weeks of campaigning (on steroids) and returned to the polls for a historic double Senate run-off election. My school is not the norm. Located in the heart of Atlanta our students are extremely socially and politically active. I was thinking about how to help them reflect on the last few weeks here in Georgia. Then the day turned with events in DC shifting the focus from Georgia to national news. I reached out to my students this afternoon to check on them (Wednesday is an asynchronous day). They are surprised, confused, and shocked.
