Teaching in 2020 is certainly not what we envisioned when we chose this profession. For me, the most significant challenge of teaching in the Spring of 2020 was not having any daily knowledge of how my students were doing as people. I knew how they were doing as learners, as readers, as writers, but social emotional check-ins were much more difficult. As I began to plan for the Fall of 2020, I knew this challenge would be even greater. In the Spring, I had already established strong relationships with my students. They trusted me.
