It’s no secret: I love teaching. But just like every other relationship, my life-long love affair with teaching has had some good times and some not so good times because that’s how relationships (and teaching) work. This year of all years has been a true test for teachers. Are the expectations and demands of this relationship unreasonable? What am I getting in return from this relationship? What happens when I can no longer find joy in teaching? Is love enough to keep me moving forward? In the past, these questions would find their way into my reflection from time to time, but they have plagued me this year.
